Locations of the 3 Dantians:
- Lower Datian – located at the lower abdomen between the navel and the public bone encompassing the lower bowl.
- Middle Dantian – located at the middle of the chest where the heart is.
- Upper Dantian – located at the middle of the forehead where the brain is.
1. Close your eyes and place and focus on the lower Dantian. Breathe into this area 3 to 5 times.
2. Inhale into the lower Dantian and imagine you are drawing qi into your body from the outside. Exhale and radiate the qi out into the universe. 10-36 times.
3. Inhale into the middle Dantian and imagine you are drawing qi into you body from the outside. Exhale and radiate the qi out into the universe. 10-36 times.
4. Inhale into the upper Dantian and imagine you are drawing qi into your body from the outside. Exhale and radiate qi out into the universe. 10-36 times.
5. Return your awareness to the lower Dantian. Focus the breath there and allow qi to accumulate. 10-36 times.
6. Slowly open your eyes. Rub the palms together until they are warm. Rub your body starting at the head, arms, chest, abdomen, lower back, legs. This meditation was found online with the Taoist Sanctuary of San Diego and I really like the method I changed some elements and parts of the wording to suit my own practice. Thanks goes out to the group that shared this training.
