Once upon a time I was dead against the gym, I thought it counter productive to developing Internal kung fu. In a way, it still is. But I’ve changed my mind, I looked to my kung fu brothers from a different time and saw that their training methods were basically completely external. They were working out all the time, building physical strength. With that strength came control and power, it wasn’t until much later that their external strength became refined and subtler with time dedicated to the practise of Internal training.
